Clothes Box Foundation

Mr. Sajan Abrol and Mr. Naman Ahluwalia started the Clothes Box Foundation in 2014 which now has a presence in cities across India such as Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc. A challenge millions of underprivileged people face is the lack of resources, one of them being the lack of clean clothing. Both of them recognised this and started this commendable foundation.

In this digital era, with the help of social media, the foundation started collecting clothes received as donations and distributing them to the poor even in the most inaccessible terrains of the country. They also lend relief support to people during health and natural calamities.

A challenge they faced was that a lot of people donated clothes that were dirty or unfit to wear. Through their program called Refresh, they not only recycle waste fabric but also empower rural women through it. They train marginalized women in industrial stitching and help them gain financial independence. At the moment, 20 women are being trained at their master training facilities in Gurugram. They have even worked with brands such as American Eagle and H&M on recycling and distribution projects.

Moreover, the foundation aims to promote animal welfare through their initiative 'Paws by Refresh'. Through this, they provide upcycled pet beds, dog mats and other animal accessories.

The devotion of the people at the Clothes Box Foundation inspires us and everyone who hears about them to lend support to those around us and we hope they reach more people to create an even larger impact.
